Columbia Crest

Gesetteld naast de Columbia River in het oosten van Washington State ligt de winery van Columbia Crest. Omdat de wijnbouw in Washington state pas in 1960 echt op gang kwam is Colombia Crest ook nog een relatief jonge winery. In 1983 opgericht en van begin af aan maken ze jaar in jaar uit absolute top wijnen.

Klimaat

Het klimaat in de Columbia Valley is ideaal, in de zomer is het er erg warm en schijnt de zon zelfs 2 uur langer als in bijvoorbeeld Napa Valley. De winters kunnen erg koud zijn en dit zorgt voor ideale omstandigheden om een top kwaliteit aan wijn te kunnen produceren.

Wine Spectator

In 1997 verschijnt Columbia Crest voor het eerst in de Wine Spectator top 100 en is er sindsdien niet meer weg te denken. Absoluut hoogte punt was in 2009 toen de Columbia Crest Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2005 tot 'Wine of the Year' werd gekroont.
